Your weekly round-up of wisdom, habits, inspiration and practical solutions, including resources to help fight racial injustice, improve your focus, and centre yourself
#37: Black Lives Matter & Improve Your Focus
Welcome to issue #37 of The Power Up, the curated email magazine from Man Body Spirit.

Every day I scour the Internet in search of wisdom, habits, inspiration and practical solutions to help improve the mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing of our readers, curating the best bits together in this neat little package – and delivered direct to your inbox every other week.

Whilst there’s often a heavy self improvement slant to this email, over the past couple of weeks it’s felt more than a little inappropriate to be quite so focused on self when so many people in our communities are hurting and crying out for long overdue change to deeply rooted, systemic racism.

I’ve personally been spending a lot of time reading, watching and listening to educate myself about my own blind spots, and seeking to understand how I can play my part in what we hope will finally be a time of change for the better.

I share some of the resources I have found helpful below, as well as some other content that I had queued up.

Oh, and I have a new podcast episode out. I’d love you to give that a listen if you have time.
Podcast: Man Alive: Online healing with Greg Prasker
In episode 4 of the Man Body Spirit podcast I talk to Greg Prasker – a mind, body & spirit coach from New York City – about the rapid growth of interest in ancient healing practices and ‘alternative’ medicines to counteract the stresses, strains and dis-eases of modern life.

If you’re open minded about ancient wellbeing practices, or frustrated by the ineffectiveness of Western medicine, then give this episode a listen.

Listen through to the end for a guided Jin Shin Jyutsu practice.
